## Elimination & Survival

There are two main ways to leave a BR1 session: elimination and survival. Each outcome changes what earnings you keep and how profitable the session becomes.

### Exit through elimination

When a player is eliminated, they retain 80% - 95% of their elimination earnings depending on their [Earnings Retention Bonus (ERB)](https://litepaper.bravoready.com/br1-infinite-guide/br1-infinite-guide/br1-game-ecosystem/earnings-retention-bonus-erb). This means earnings from kills are guaranteed earnings.\

Once eliminated, players are kicked out of the session and prompted to either '**Play Again**' or '**Return to Main Menu**'.

### Exit through survival

In the bottom left corner of your screen, you can see your Survival clock. It comes in the form of a yellow bar that fills over 5 minutes.

Once the bar is full, you can trigger the action button (**F10**) to start a 30 second countdown, that when complete, will automatically take you out of the game.

To survive, a player must remain still and not take damage for the entirety of the countdown.

* The countdown will reset after any movement or damage.
* Currently, Survival acts as a function that enables you to maintain a strong K/D, and also rewards you monetarily for surviving vs being eliminated.

#### Benefits of survival

Elimination guarantees earnings from kills, but survival lets you extract cash from [Cash Drops & Extractions](https://litepaper.bravoready.com/br1-infinite-guide/br1-infinite-guide/br1-game-ecosystem/cash-drops-and-extractions) found around the map.

Be careful, other players can loot your body and steal your cash.

Successfully surviving returns 50% of your spawn fee, cutting your session cost in half. Extracting through Survival is the most profitable way to leave a match.
