# Socializing

Learn BR1 social controls including text chat, voice chat, and emotes.

## Socializing

BR1 includes a few simple tools for communication, coordination, and expression during a match.

Use them to call out danger, coordinate fights, or react in the moment.

### Text chat

Press `T` to open text chat.

Text chat is useful for quick messages when voice chat is not ideal.

### Voice chat

Hold `V` to use voice chat.

Double tap `V` to keep voice chat on continuously.

Voice chat is the fastest way to coordinate during fights, rotations, or extractions.

### Emotes

Press `C` to open emotes.

Emotes let you react visually without using chat or voice.

They are useful for quick, non-verbal communication.
